Skink has dried out scales

Hello,

My BTS has a patch of dry scales on his face. His gums look fine. He's been eating less but it's also been colder (though it's about 75-80F on the cool side of his tank). Is there anything I can do about it? My vet is out of town. For that rough patch in the middle, there was a scale that started peeling earlier than usual before his last shed, it had been sterilized with betadine. Same for the patch on his head.

Appears to be an incomplete shed, you can try a little warm water to loosen it. Winter causes drier air and humidity may be inadequate. I don't find northerns to need a lot of humidity, but this time of year dry sheds can be an issue.

It's weird, because I'm pretty sure that area already shed last time. I will try it, though.
