Substrate:
Fir Bark bedding, Aspen Shavings, CoCo Fiber, Shangum Moss
what I did was about 60 / 40 area mixed of each:
for the 60 (cool side) I did Firbark mixed with Cocofiber, topped with Shangum moss, he has the pad under just in case he wants to burry but usually stays around 65-75 degrees in my room so he likes to sit on top (where the water bowl is in photo)
For the 40 side (hot side) it was a base layer of CoCo Fiber with a nice topping of Asapen shaving. The warm side is where his heat lamp, main heat pad, and daylight light are well where he usually likes to burrow because of the warm.
I have heard a lot of negative and positive things about CoCo Fiber in the past and I love it will all my reptiles, I use a specific brand where it won't dry up when it gets warm, and stays soft and plush for all my reptiles. I use it on my Snake (A ball python, ofc my Skink, my sister's Bearded dragon, and my wife's snake another ball python, as well as her chameleon because it provides a nice and soft ground in case it were to fall), as well I have used in an enclosure for long periods, only cleaning hides, water dishes etc as it has not molded once, I do also have auto watering systems for all my reptiles, that mist every 8 hours. IF you would like to know more about the brand just ask. (sorry I can't find the packaging ATM)
Tank:
The tank is a 40-gallon front-opening tank
