Meet My First Skink! please ask questions or leave a comment

This is my little man Leo (could be a female) don't know yet. Just got him this little pen as I have only had him for a week now and I want him to get more used to me and my wife. I held him for the first time today as I was transporting him from his home to the pen. I was shocked because he didn't hiss at me or tried to "bite" me. He just kinda laid and tried to escape a little bit. IF you guys have any more tips on how I can help get him a little more used to me and not hiss so much please put some comments down. Thank you!
