New Tanimbar BTS questions

Hi, I’m new to this forum and I just have a few questions. A little bit about myself, I’ve been keeping reptiles and fish (fresh and salt) off and on since the late 80s
I currently have
1 desert agama
1 melanistic jeweled lacerta
1 cape house snake
1 natural corn snake
1 natural ball Python
An African rift tank
A pico reef
And my new Tanimbar BTS
So I got this guy on morphmarket two weeks ago, he’s a CB about 15”. He’s eating good, cat food for now, every other day. He seems healthy, but seems to hide constantly and pees whenever I hold him. He doesn’t try to bite and is pretty mellow, just lets the pee fly. Is this and the hiding just part of him getting adjusted?
For substrate, I have cypress mulch, with sphagnum and leaf litter and humidity stays around 60-80 and temps are 95 and 80 on the cool side with the basking spot around 100f. Does this sound right? Is there any type of soil from Home Depot that would work ( the cypress mulch is kinda pricy)?

Thanks for any advice

Personally, I have never kept them, but I have heard they are not known for friendliness..
Being I only keep Aussie species possibly some keepers will advise on humidity/husbandry?
Anyone out there with Tannies??

Temperature and humidity you are reporting look good. Mine are typically in the lower part of that range.

Attitude wise I think their antisocial behavior is exaggerated. I've got 3 cbb and 3 wc and with minimal work all are easily handled

Thanks! Mine is also very chill and easy to handle aside from the peeing on me, I also don’t handle him on food day because then I get pooped on too lol
