Healing Scales

Postby DreamWeasel » Mon May 15, 2023 8:47 am

A few month ago Gus scraped his back burrowing under a rough hide in his enclosure. We have been keeping an eye on the scales and have some concerns with how they are healing. For the most part the scales looks sort of wrinkled but after his last shed the other day it looks like there is a very small area of exposed flesh. Has this developed into something more than just some scraped up scales?
Around the same time that he scraped his back we also got a new enclosure for him with a mesh top so have been wrestling with humidity as well and have added a humid hide to try to help. Could the scale issue be a result of that as well?
