BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

My older skink has a noticeably red underbelly and sides. I’m not sure if it was always there, but I’m definitely starting to take note of it. I wanna say a long long time ago on here I saw someone mention that it’s blood and it means they had a bad shed…? If so what can I do to help and prevent this in the future?

Do I know what breed he is? No. He was a rescue and people on here say he looks like a dirty mix.

I keep his humidity around 60-70 but now that it’s summer my apartment is a lot more humid with all the rain and whatnot.

Looks like Irian Jaya, possibly hybrid can't tell from just that picture. Take some complete pictures of him, and the scales in question. Also, better humidity results if you just use the repti-bark rather than mixing with aspen.

So you say the issue could be the humidity? I’ll share pics but like I said many people on here tried to figure out his breed but the consensus was a “dirty mix” and to keep his humidity around 60-80. He hasn’t shed in a while tho

I've never used the term "dirty mix" and never heard of it either. Could be a hybrid (correct term) but appears Irian jaya for the most part. Some unscrupulous people pair northerns with Irian Jayas, which is an extremely bad practice as both species require different care. IJs require higher humidity. I do not see anything concerning with your skink.
