Hi, I recently changed the top of my enclosure for a solid cover due to humidity leaving the tank too quickly and when we initially misted the tank again, it quickly shot up to essentially 100% humidity and has not dropped down since for almost two days now.
I was aiming for 80% or so since we have a classic Indonesian, but now I'm slightly worried if the extra humidity can be harmful if it stays like this long term. I've not seen much about too high of a humidity as an issue for skinks unfortunately, as most of the time people are having the opposite issue in their enclosures so any insight would be appreciated.
Can extra high humidity be harmful?

If the substrate and surfaces aren't wet with precipitation it's unlikely to be harmful but most of the time you get a swampy wet cage that can be harmful

My thinking is that if the humidity is associated with WETNESS, such as a wet substrate, it can be harmful. My pink tongue skinks occasionally develop skin infections if I ket the substrate get too wet.

100% humidity isn't bad per-say as long as the substrate and enclosure isn't staying in a damp wet state as others suggested. Skinks can get skin and other infections if kept on to wet of an area. Keep an eye on it and your skink and see how things go as long as the inside of the enclosure isn't too wet.
