BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi guys, first time posting while spending a long time learning lots of things from this site.

I'm new to blue tongue skink breeding but have experience in gecko breeding. I have a pair of melanistic blue tongue skinks just woke from a 2-month brumation. They are all in good health and eat. It's their first time breeding. Both are two and a half years old.

I've been trying to breed these two for more than a week. The female shows no sign of defense with the male's move. While every time the male bites the female and drags her but he never aligns himself to the right position or even tries it. I tried to position them in the right place while the male bites the female's neck, which didn't help.

I'm wondering what should I do because I don't want to miss the female's window.

Happens to me all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Most 'misses' occur when it's too early or too late.
