White spots on belly

Postby Y33T » Sun May 22, 2022 8:11 pm

I gave Hestu a check over and noticed white spots on his belly, I can’t rub them off at all so I’m hoping they are just scrapes like you normally see on their head and back. His tail and sides are reddish and one scale looks more red than the rest, I also hope it’s just those “cold flushes” since my other skinks get them too when cold.

I want someone to confirm that those are nothing to worry about and not something like scale rot. I can’t take photos because he wiggles a lot, he’s not a big fan of handling.
His enclosure and substrate is dry, I unfortunately do not have a working hygrometer for him yet but I’m just guessing based on my other skink enclosures which are both around 40-50%.

Could you post a picture or pictures? That would help us to see and understand what exactly the problem is.

I’ll see if he starts glass surfing I might snap a photo then, it’s near impossible to get him to sit still when handling, i had to flip him upside down briefly to get a closer look.

I've never seen color change resulting from temperature. Only pre-shed.
A picture would help.
