Looking for areas of improvement!

Hi all,

I’ve been on a mission to keep improving my babies habitat! I’m gonna list out some basic stats about him(?) and my setup- I’d love to receive some constructive feedback/how i can keep improving! I’m particularly concerned about how I can ensure proper humidity for this (assumed) Halm.

Assumed sp. Tiliqua gigas gigas
Age estimate: 4-8months?
Enclosure: 36x18x18
Heating: 100w basking+heat pad
UV: Zilla tropical slimline 15w
Humidity: ReptiZoo fogger set to 2 minute periods every hour, +hand misting 2x day
Substrate: Bioactive mix, coconut fiber+mulch mix+leaf litter+sphagnum moss

Current Temp gradient: Heat rock is hitting 100-105F, cool side is sitting around 72-75F, ambient is ~80F.

Humidity+explanation of use of fogger
Have been struggling here, During the day it’s probably sitting around 60%. After a good misting it hits 85% but not getting much higher than that. The top and sides are screen.
I unfortunately wasn’t made aware of the connection with foggers+RIs before i purchased it. There’s a lot of ventilation and I have it on the lowest setting, but I know long term I should be moving to a misting system (and a bigger habitat). Even with the fogger running over night I’m still waking up to 40%-50%. This all being with a LARGE water bowl with a running waterfall :/

Habitat in question! Live pothos, some live moss, arugula/collard/mustard sprouts on the bottom:) The cork round on the right is a massive piece and stuffed with sphagnum. I need to get some sort of humidity probe to check the inside, but putting my hand in there it’s noticeably….moister

Skink in question: Slinky I feel pretty dang lucky to have this lizard, even from the first few days he’s been insanely docile, curious, and chill. After 2 days he was sleeping in the crook of my arm like a baby:’)

I think that’s about it! Again, if you can take the time to give some feedback, encouragement, or advice I’d be super appreciative! This is my first entry into the herp world, but I’ve been deeply immersed in the saltwater aquarium world for 10+yrs. I’m pretty science-nerdy, so feel free to go into as much depth as you’d like!

You're looking good there, but if you'd like to increase humidity you can cover some of the screened areas. I kept Halms some years back when I was still using glass cages and this worked well to keep it at around 80+.

Awesome, thanks! Definitely gonna try covering the side screens and see if that solves it.

Looks like you are off to a good start. Beautiful setup. I would just recommend a bigger enclosure in the future and as Splashy recommended you can cover part of the top to increase the humidity.
