Medical Help- are his toes goners?

Postby TheLittlePrince » Tue Mar 01, 2022 7:34 pm

Hello everyone, to keep it short my 9 month old northern bts had some problems last shed and skin got stuck on his toes. I put shedding ease stuff on him and soaked him but when I looked back a a couple days later scabs had started to form. I tried soaking and shed solution more but when they got worse I immediately made a vet appointment.

They got me in two days later and suggested three rounds of antibiotic shots (he's had two already, one to go). And they also said to soak him and put Silver Sulfadiazine 1% on his feet nightly.

It's been a week since then and his poor feet look the same. I've attached a photo of his worst foot (the others just have slight scabbing but all look flaky). I've also put a photo of the cream he was prescribed. It's hard to see past the scab but Im hoping the crack there isn't too deep, I don't want him to lose any toes. But are these ones bound to fall off now? What do you guys think?

He's had slight shed problems in the past but never like this! His temperatures are okay and his humidity was ~30-40% which I thought was fine. Not sure what else to do besides keep a closer eye on him.

Thanks for any advice/comments!
