Hey guys, so I feed my adult Irian Jaya BTS high quality dog food mixed with reptivite (once a week), some veggies, occasional fruit, and BTS crumbles (dried) about every 3 days. He hasnt been interested in his food for a little over a week now. He has been to the vet and from what they could tell, seems healthy. I am just getting worried and would like some feedback from more experienced handlers. Ask any questions you would like in order to get any information you need to determine proper advice. Anything helps!

(temps, lighting, and humidity are all up to par with recommended care sheets for Irian Jaya BTS)

I don't have an IJ, I have a Northern but I can tell you that my northern bts has went through periods where he didn't eat for well over a month. It seems very common my bts has always been very healthy. Just offer the food and if they don't eat it don't worry too much unless there is some other warning sign that comes with the not eating. Keep in mind too they eat less in winter and around sheding periods they often wont eat. They has very low metabolisms so it would really take a long time for them to starve. Eventually they will eat.

Agree. My Northern males do not eat from October to mid-March. None have starved to death so far! IJs go off periodically also, fasting periods are natural for all but the youngsters.
