BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Just have noticed my IJ has been in pre shed up until today when I noticed he’s started his shed today. I saw some signs in the last week he was getting ready to shed but he never turned milky white he just sort of darkened and his colors dulled. He’s healthy so I’m not worried but was just curious if it’s more common for them to turn that milky white color or do some just darken and dull then shed?

It does vary, I have a white northern that I can never tell at all except for time frame.
