Mealworm advice?

Hi guys! So, a few days ago I decided to buy live mealworms for my boy. He LOVES them and has a lot of fun chasing them down when I drop them in his tank. My only question is... Should I worry if a worm burrows into the bedding? I found 2 barely alive ones today when I was cleaning his tank. If they burrow and he doesn't find them, will they just die off or will they find ways to infest? Thanks.

P.s. I want to start a mealworm colony to save me from going to the shop so often, so any advice on how to do that would be great.

First of all, mealworms are not a good food source and should only be offered as treats. Superworms and dubias are a much better choice if feeding insects. Too many mealworms have been known to cause digestive issues.
