How long does this madness last?!

Postby Suzle87 » Fri Nov 26, 2021 5:23 am

Ventress is still acting like a man lizard posessed, trying to get out constantly but its been a few months now, temperature, humidity etc is fine so i presume it is mating behaviour but its just driving me a bit mad now! Any uk lady skinks want to help me out and visit haha x

Seems like it could be mating behavior as skink mating season is usually from December to January. Though, my boy hasn't behaved like this at all. He only wants out of his tank if he feels like exploring or being held. I would just keep an eye on 'em! Skinks (especially males) can get rowdy during mating season.

Hahahaha at least he hasn't knocked the glass out as my eastern boy did....right off the track and onto the floor, surprisingly it did not break and he got so scared he remained in his cage!

My biggest worry is my males do not eat anything at this time, and it's when they first come out of brumation. I should be used to it by now but it still makes me crazy...and the season is just around the corner....yuck!

Ventress is quite a fussy eater as it is (he is suprisingly big considering!) so i worry most of the time about how little he eats but yes especially atm, but as my dad pointed out, if hes not losing weight then he can’t need it! Must just have the slowest metabolism on earth bless him x

Common with adult males but still disconcerting!
