So I’m getting a new bluey very soon (it’s going to be a blotched) and I’m wondering if I just provide a humidity hide while he/she is shedding would that be enough humidity or would I have to monitor it? :noknow:

I like using humid hides with my northern since it gives him the choice to use it around shed time if he needs it (whereas if I boost the humidity in his enclosure he can't escape it). I haven't had a bad shed with him yet and I've had him for almost a year now. I usually add in the same substrate I'm using with a little added moisture and a little bit of rehydrated sphagnum moss.

Edit: I don't think you would have to monitor the humid hide unless you were planning on keeping it in the enclosure the entire time, which you might need to go back in it and spray it down a little maybe once a week or once every two weeks. Make sure to stir up the substrate in the hide when you do it to prevent bacteria growth.
