BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

So a few days ago I had Hestu out of his tank but I also let Bajo out too and I noticed Hestu is wagging his tail like very slowly when Bajo is close. So far I’ve read that it’s like a submissive response but I want to be sure if there’s any other explanation. I don’t know Hestu’s gender while he’s still young (at least 8 months) and Bajo i’m still unsure but I was leaning towards female for him purely from appearance (ik not really accurate).

I have witnessed that behavior in females when male is introduced at breeding season. Does not prove anything though, but it's the only time I've seen it with mine.

Mine does it too from time to time. But I haven't noticed a certain pattern (yet). I've read they sometimes do it when they are stressed and/or see something 'new'. But that doesn't seem to be the case for my skink. Though it could be some form of 'anticipation', I have no idea.

Second Splashy's response. Tail wagging has been suggested by breeders here in Australia to be an effort by a female to entice a male to mate and/or indicate receptivity to mating.
