BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hello! Today, my BTS was peeing and after he dropped a urate, he kept pushing and I heard him wheeze. It looked like he was pushing really hard but he dropped what might be a sperm plug (image attached). I was concerned about the wheezing, but afterwards he was running around just fine and making no noises. Do skinks sometimes make wheezing noises when pushing out a sperm plug and is this a sperm plug?

Looks like it. As long as he is acting well, he should be okay.

My male skink wheezes sometimes when he poops, so it’s not exclusive to sperm plugs. I was concerned at first too but his poops are healthy so I just assumed it’s normal, he’s been doing it for years now and no problems so far. Might be a male skink thing who knows, I have 2 others currently unsexed (one could be a female though) and they never wheezed when they poop.

For some reason, most of my males like to make some sort of noise when they use the bathroom....boys will be boys...and that does look like a sperm plug although cannot confirm as I can't see it in it's entirety. Pretty sure it is, though.
