Hey I’m new here, I’ve had my one skink Mrs.Weenie for years now and just got another (: the first one is a merauke shes 9 years old and a rescue she came to me with no toes and small for her age but has been doing great with me (: and the new one is a Northern named Bowser and he is 1 and settling in nicely He breathes kind of heavy could that be because he’s chunky or do you guys think its an RI ? Males (if positive of gender) are seldom chunky but it's not unheard of. How about a picture?
If he's acting normal, eating, drinking etc probably no worries but let's see him.

Sorry its not a full body photo, this is the only one that was small enough to send… It doesn’t really matter to me if i chose the wrong genders, I’m not breeding but thank you for that info and it would be interesting to know please let me know if you think its a girl or boy ? Here’s a pic, thank you for your reply ! Also he’s only been here 3 days but he ate well the first day on dog food and bluey buffet and a couple bugs so I’m hoping he’s good !

Cannot determine gender by that pic, and if that is aspen bedding you are using I'd switch to another type. Had shedding and sneezing issues when using, way too dry.

If you didn’t read the caption as i said that was all i had right now and its only temporary… i dampen it to bring humidity up at night

Dampening aspen can create mold which is extremely unhealthy, and night time humidity is unnecessary for a northern. If you cannot change it before a shed cycle then you may slightly dampen one hide. Otherwise I would not suggest dampening aspen. You would be better off using newspaper or similar until you can change out substrate.

How am i gonna use newspaper ? They love to burrow and how is paper gonna hold up with humidity ..? And ok I won’t dampen it, they both just shed so I’ll get it changed soon.
