Halmahera blue tongue skink steep learning curve

Hi all
I have recently acquired (a what I now know is) a halmarhera blue tongue skink, though I was told Kermit was a blue tongue skink from Australia.I have researched Kermit's kind as much as I can,but still have many questions because I want to provide him(I think)with the best care and quality of life that I can.He is approximately 5 months old and has an enormous appetite(eats everyday)of salad, crickets, dubia roaches and locusts(as recommended by the shop we bought him from).I have seen many places suggesting dog food is a good staple, his vivarium has a combination of coco fibre and sphagnum moss as substrate, the humidity in hot end is around 65% and cool end high 80's+%.Any further advice on diet, living conditions and general care would be gratefully appreciated.
