BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hello everyone,
I am wondering whether or not this can be done? I have an Eastern Blue tongue and I live in Victoria, in the eastern area of Australia. The reason I am asking this is I feel the tank that we have for him is too small. If this can't be done, I may get a larger tank or build one for him indoors.

This can definitely be done - your skink will thrive in its natural environment. Indoor space is always a limitation for a larger enclosure. I'm from Vic aswell and I have thought about transitioning to the use of a high quality Pit at some point (great to have even as an option in summer) As long as you provide everything your skink needs:

- Predator proofing (protection from birds, cats etc.)
- Escape proofing
- Positioning for adequate sunlight exposure
- Flood proofing
- Hides, including an elevated, insulated dry hide box
- Selection of some natural flora
- Clean water

Coop's Reptiles on YouTube is a great resource for this and im pretty sure he's done some guides on how to put them together.

Thank you for your reply. Can you only do this in summer? Or could you do it in winter too?

You could do it at any time however the warmer months would make for an easier transition for your skink I would imagine. That way moving into the next winter would be gradual and your skink would have time to naturally enter brumation.
