Discoloration on nose
Hi everyone! Recently I’ve noticed my skink has two scales right above the nose that have a different color than the rest, while on the nose itself, it looks like half of it has been stained a darker color. It stands out a bit more in these pictures because he’s going into shed. Does anyone know what this could be? His eyes and nose are clear and his breathing sounds fine. I never see him nose rubbing so I don’t think it’s that either. The only thing I can think of is his last shed there was a scale still hanging on that spot of his nose but it was loose and came right off, so I’m not sure. As far as the staining I’m thinking maybe food stains? I figured that would be able to come off, but it doesn’t when I rub it with a wet q-tip. Any help is much appreciated!

Thank you for the reassurance! Out of curiosity do you know why this color change could have happened?

Could be a stained scale preparing for shed. I see it quite frequently.
