I have had my BTS for almost a year, He is a Halmahera.
About a month ago, I had noticed bubbles coming out of only his left eye, it had also sunken in. The other eye is completely fine. I had to wait about 2 weeks for my vet appointment and during that time his symptoms had gotten just a little worse, he did bubble from his mouth a little and his eye still bubbled (it wasn't covered in bubbles, just had some on the corner of his eye. His other eye still was completely fine though. The vet did say he heard a bit of crackling in his breathing if he listened closely and prescribed him 10 days of baytril. I already finished it, he doesn't bubble from the mouth, but his eye is still sunken in and has bubbles on occasion, but he's acting normal, eating normally, and pooping normally. I'm really at a loss... I'll be taking him to the vet again of course, but has anyone experienced this?
Also, my guess is that the infection was probably caused by the temp being too low, I make sure to keep his humidity at 80% or more.
i bumped his temps up, please let me know if his conditions are adequate (i have done the research, but it seems a lot of sources have different answers
)Warm Side: 95-100 (sometimes I've gotten 1 or 2 degrees higher than 100)
Cold side:80-85
Night time: never goes below 70 but depending on the house temp sometimes goes up to the low 80s
Humidity: 80%-100%
i also have a reptisun 5.0 tube light on the cold side
Let me know if I need to make any changes
