How to improve hydration during brumation

Postby King Julien » Thu Jun 03, 2021 12:34 am

My skink is currently in brumation, however has produced a second yellowish urate which is said to indicate dehydration. There is always fresh water available which I have watched em walk past multiple times (he's active at the moment because I woke him up to weigh him). Currently, because of brumation, temps are down and he receives no food. Weight is 502grams (1.1pounds).

Any ideas on why he is dehydrated and what I can do about it?

I will likely take him to the vet within the next week or so.
