BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hey all, 1st time here, I've adopted a BTS in which im not 100% sure what type it is. I've tried combing through some examples of each and I think its a Northern, but not 100% sure. She's a rescue, hence her messed up feet with no nails.

She's super fine with handling, so im sure she is CB. 24" from head to end of tail right now.

Can someone help?

I plan on getting her a bigger 4ft x 2ft enclosure as this one is only 3ft by 1.5ft and its too tight I think. Just want her to live out her days in a good environment, but first I need to identify the type so I know the next steps for substrate and such. And the water dish in the picture is just temporary since the one I got is way too large for this tank haha. I need to make it more humid in there quickly though (i think) so Im constantly spraying the bark down with water (light spray) but that will change once I figure this out further.

Looks like an Eastern to me.

Northern, potentially Northern x Eastern.

Looks more like an IJ to me. Northerns and easterns do not have front leg patterning.
And to add, I seriously doubt anyone would cross an eastern with a northern being easterns cost more than twice as much. Possibly a northern/IJ cross, but definitely not northern or eastern.

Wow really? Cause I've seen them sold for only like $20 extra, with most people favoring intermedia over scincoides . Maybe It's just where I live. There are a lot of blue tongues sold in Australia.

Oh good call! I glazed over IJ's.I always forget Easterns are more expensive in the US.

Easy to forget for us Aussies Herper, but US market is different. Where as you said here Easterns are dime a dozen and ive seen them sold for under 50 AUD on several occasions (~40 USD).

Easterns start at $750 USD.

By Crikey, really!? You could get a sunglow carpet for that amount!

I can't even imagine what a sunglow carpet would cost on this side of the pond. Unfortunately, we don't have scincoides spp running around everywhere. I think if I had them in my backyard I'd never leave the house! Must be absolutely awesome seeing them in their natural wild state without everyone inbreeding them to look a certain way.

Yeah true bro. Although it has been a while since I've seen any around , but It's definitely rewarding. By Crikey though, your right, inbreeding sucks. And it's a shame that people are doing it.
Lol, yeah sunglows can be pretty pricey over here as well. But nothin' compared to a snow, a ghost or a moonglow!

looks like a irian jaya to me they are from Indonesian as far as I read more of a tropical type and I just wanted to say that their feet are sensitive during the shedding process they can lose toes or nails if they don't shed right I tend to some my guys feet in water during that time to help but I wish u luck with her also they love to dig so u can mix it with some peat moss soil that might help the shedding also
