which solar meter do you recommend? preferably one that won't break the bank but i don't trust the card ones as they seem to all read differently.
Also while ive got you here, if i have springtails do i have to do full clean outs or just spot cleaning?

I can’t help much on much, but I believe you DON’T have to do full clean outs with a bioactive set up. Dunno about with just springtails. Probably wouldn’t hurt.

I think reading this article from Northampton Reptile Center might help in whether or not you need to do a full clean on just springtails. They mention that their top 5 "cleanup crew" are:

1. Springtails
2. Whiteworm
3. Small Worms
4. Bean Weevils
5. Tropical Grey Woodlice

However, there's also this article by The Bio Dude that includes a full tutorial on how they create a bioactive setup. They mention isopods with springtails (and isopods/pill bugs are so cute! so why not?), which I'm going to make the assumption that you'll do better with both, but probably fine with just springtails?

I really wanted to make a bioactive setup for my bluey but my fiance is not keen on the idea of bugs being in our home at all whatsoever. So that idea is out the door for me and I've only done minimal curiosity sating research on it, lol.

My fella is okay with bugs in the house so long as they stay in the vivarium haha so i will order some more and give it a go!
