New Skink Has Stuck Shed Welt/Mites

I recently got my own Indonesian BTS for the first time, and noticed right away that it wasn't shedding properly and it had mites, so I gave him several spray and wipe down's with shed ease, and mild mite insecticide. This seems to have helped most of the stuck shed and mites seems to be under control, however there's a noticeable welt behind the rear left leg that I'm led to believe is stuck shed mainly because of the dull translucent look of the scales around this area. I've had my BTS for about 48 hours now, and have been working full time since I bought him. however tomorrow I have the full day off, and plan on tackling this welt. I plan on using a medicated bath, that contains a mild solution of shed ease, and mite killer, along with more direct application to the welt specifically with a Q-tip/cotton swab. If it does not come off with rubbing, I might need a slightly more aggressive scrub, however, I'm not sure what else I could use in this bath to help my BTS out. My main question is, do any experienced BTS owners think this is a good course of action? and is there anything else I should add to the bath solution. I'm all open to suggestions, because I am a first time BTS/reptile owner, and this BTS has a few problems, mainly with stuck shed. On a side note he seems to be taking well to his enclosure, and being out in the open and basking most of the time, he has also eaten, which I've taken as a sign that right now he's content. He also has plenty of energy to move around and seems inquisitive. I've taken to naming him/her Sirus, I haven't been able to verify if its male or female due to the young age. A good soak should help loosen the skin. While I've never had issues with retained shed on any of my Blue Tongue Skinks, when I received one of my Prehensile Tailed Skink last year, she had enough retained shed on her arm that it was puffy and swollen. When I removed the shed ring it had actually cut into the flesh as she had grown. Soaking her enabled me to remove the skin.

I am a new BTS and reptile owner, but have been doing a whole mess of research. I would also suggest using a gentle bristle brush, like a dollar store toothbrush, on the affected area. Giving them access to a humid hide, a plastic tupperware filled with damp but not soaking sphagnum moss, and a water basin with enough area to climb in could also help! Take all this with a grain of salt as it is second hand and I am inexperienced. Good luck!
