Is metronidazole based fish food safe as a supplement for early anti-parasitic purposes?

Postby MrInteresting » Sun Jan 17, 2021 6:27 pm

Hi everyone! First post here, and about 2 weeks ago I got my first BTS, a Halmahera that I've named Zippo. Zippo has settled in extremely nicely, handling very well, and is eating well. Every source that I read says that WC skinks have parasitic issues and need to be treated. I have some metronidazole spirulina flake food for my fish that I've used prophylactically with quite a bit of success (from Ken's Fish if anyone's curious). I was wondering if this would be a safe and effective option to mix in supplementally for the short term with Bluey Buffet in order to purge any potential parasites.

Thanks for the help in advance! :)

To be honest I have no idea if something designed for fish would work for a reptile. I'd advise a vet check for any imported animal.
