Enclosure material! Help!

Hello guys. My skink grew a bit and I want to upgrade his enclosure. But the only decently sized enclosure I can find in my country is made out of OSB3 like this. Since it's an Irian Jaya, it will need a bit more humidity. Do you guys know if enclosures made out of OSB3 are good for this, or would it end up molding?

Spills and humidity will cause OSB to crumble and rot. It also contains toxic materials such as formaldehyde. It is one of the worst materials you could use to build a cage. If you can find it, expanded PVC is far and away a better choice.

While OSB3 is rated as water resistant and able to be used in humid enviroments. Any cut areas would need to be sealed, most likely the safest thing to do would be to seal the entire enclosure. Simply because if any moisture does penetrate it will crumble. There are multiple types of resins used to make OSB3 any of which has the potential to be toxic to your pet. My suggestion would be to research what types are being used on it before you use this type of enclosure. Last but not least it is going to be heavy. So it will be difficult to move if you need too for any reason.

Not sure what types of material are available to you in your country. Many of the folks here in N. America have moved over to PVC enclosures. A lot of good reasons to use this material over the traditional materials of wood and glass. If by chance you do decide to order an enclosure outside of your country be sure to check on how much taxes and shipping will be. The shipping alone can be pricey.

Meant to add this as well, With all this covid stuff going on and supply lines breaking down. You might see extended build/shipping times as well. I ordered a custom enclosure at the beginning of July and it was just shipped 2 days ago.
