My skinks usually stay awake till night time. However, sometimes they burrowed and don't come out. My skink if he hears my voice will come out.

Most of us work. We make time for our pets. You can say the same for dogs, cats, hamsters, whatever they'll be around when we come home. They do not wake up when you go to work and go to sleep when you come home. They live on a schedule that we provide that works for us and them. Goes for any pet belonging to someone who works.
