In my opinion, it honestly depends on where you live, your water quality, and what your personal thoughts are. Personally, i believe if you can drink your regular tap then so can your skink. But if you want to be extra precautious you can add reptisafe. Theres honestly no scientific explanation or proof that tap water (that is filtered and already safe for humans to drink) will do reptiles harm, people just like to take the extra step. Do what you think is best.

Have to agree, if your tap water is fit for human consumption. It should be fine for your pet. If your worried about chlorine in the water. You can pour your water before hand to let it evaporate. It takes 4.5 days for 10 gallons. If you aerate it, it will be faster. If I can remember properly it is 6-8 minutes of boiling for 10 gallons.
Like Caffee said though, have to do what you think is best and makes you the most comfortable.

Thanks so much everyone for the replies, i read about distilled water somewhere and was panicking that id been slowly poisoning him by not using distilled water, panic over. Thankyou x
