BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi everybody! My boyfriend and I are new bluey owners and have really enjoyed our lil dude so far. His name is Wheatley. He gave us a mostly great shed, has been eating great, has gained 7grams in his week and a half with us, and is socializing well!! He started to shed the first time about 3 days ago.

Today I noticed he had a whole foot's worth of shed stuck to his foot still, so I went to take it off. He didn't object or anything, but I noticed- the tip of his toe looked like it was almost dangling off. Upon further inspection its still connected of course, but looks like the shed is still stuck on the very tippy end of his toe and the white-ish spot is the spot in question. Is that "index" toe safe and healthy? Should I soak him today or tomorrow if it's still looking stuck? Sorry if the picture isn't super quality but I think you can see it well enough, and pleased excuse his food face - he ran straight through his food LOL

Hard for me to tell from the pictures, but if there is question about stuck shed...when in doubt just soak. You can also do a little bit of mineral oil or coconut oil to the toe to try to loosen it. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. We've left it alone other than print some Neosporin on it and it's looking like this today. Any thoughts?

Soak it and use the mineral oil as I suggested. Rub it gently. It should hopefully come off.
