BTS First Aid Kit

With watching and reading the discussions here and seeing folks asking for help. I decided to do a search to see if anyone had setup a First Aid Kit for their BTS. Had something like 256 hits and found one posted back in 2010 which was based off of a snake kit. There is also some info in the FAQ section on what to do with some common occurences. For the Aid Kit, I was wondering if any of you long term BTS owners have one put together and if so what you keep in it. It would be an interesting and helpful
read/discussion.

I think this is a good idea and hope you get some more responses on this post. I keep neosporin next to my tank from when I had a leopard gecko. It was recommended for them if their tail ever popped off. I’m assuming the same would apply to a BTS in case of a rare tail pop.

I keep a bottle of betadine and triple antibiotic ointment nearby. Haven't had to use either much but it will help with minor abrasions and open wounds.

I've been thinking on this. There doesn't seem to much really required. I've been thinking Normal Saline to flush out wounds. An antibiotic Cream for minor wounds. and either dermagel or spray if somehow a deeper wound happens to seal it until I can get the BTS in to see a Vet. Probably an idea to keep some betadine on hand as well in case there is a long wait to get into the vet in case the wound starts going bad.
@mb is there a reason you chose ointment over cream? The reason I am asking Is that Cream tends to absorb and ointment doesn't. Not sure if I am overlooking something.

Nope. I use the ointment for minor issues just as a precaution. For anything serious, I'd go with Silvadene, which is more cream based. Probably will need a vet for the prescription.

Had to look up Silvadene, it sounds tailor made for reptiles care.
