One of my indo bts legs doesn’t work
Hello! I took my bts alice out today and she started walking away but I noticed one of her back legs wasn’t moving. Our vet has hard to book hours so if there are any options that could help those are needed. Thank you!

How long have you owned the skink?

Nevermind, I see from your last post that this is a new skink. I'd recommend getting this skink checked by a vet anyway you can seeing as it's imported. Try soaking your skink in warm water for about 20 minutes just to make sure the issue isn't being caused by retained shedded skin. If there is, the skin should loosen up and be easily removed.

I would recommend posting pictures as well. That way we can see what it looks like.

Don't see any swelling or injury, did she take a fall recently that you know of? If it persists try and get to your vet.

She has a small amount of swelling. She tries to walk with it and it’s moveable but she just can’t walk with it. She has not taken a fall.

Re: One of my indo bts legs doesn’t work
Best case scenario is it's just a minor injury. A vet will x ray the leg just to confirm it's not broken (chances are its not) and prescribe a mild anti inflammatory. If it is only a mild injury, you will see improvement in about a week and a vet won't be necessary. But have a plan ready just in case so your skink can be seen quickly.

I've dealt with cases with imports where the skink had so much stuck shed on a limb that it eventually limited the circulation and caused swelling and injury. My Monkey Skink came to me a few months with this exact problem and her arm blew up. That may or may not be the case here but it's worth noting.

We did try to soak her leg in warm water but she is not a fan of the water at all. We were able to soak her leg for about 3 minutes before she freaked out.

I couldn't agree more. The skink injured the leg some how. If it persists the. I would get it checked out.
