Weird shedding behavior Pt. 2

Its been a little over two weeks now since cheerios shedding process has started, i might just be worrying to much but i want to make sure this is all normal. About a week before shedding started his appetite was lower and he was hiding a lot more, along with being a bit extra defensive and hissy. I know this is normal. But now its been over two weeks (including the week where he first started acting different) and hes still acting the same. I dont see much shedding around his cage or on him (tiny bits if any) so im assuming its buried since hes spent most of his shedding time under the substrate, only coming out in the mornings now to bask for an hour or so before returning. I dont want to have to pull him out from under the substrate, because i want him to know his home is his safe space, but when should i step in? As in soak him? He seems to have little bits of shed still left, but no “problem” shed on typical problem areas (feet, face, end of tail, etc) but im still worried. I know hes probably just a reptile doing his reptile thing, but he seems unhappy and i miss bonding time. Anyone else have long shedding processes from start to finish?

Hi there. I wouldn't worry about Cheerio. It all sounds like normal reptile shedding process. They can get very moody, off of food, and stayed burrowed for a while before, during, and slightly after shedding. Every skink is different in the process. If you are concerned with stuck shed, then provide a humid hide to see if that helps. Of not a good soak for 20 minutes will help

I guess i just worry too much. Feels like forever ago since i last held him and i dont want to go backwards in our progress, but i refuse to make him uncomfortable in his own home. Ive been checking his feet daily and they look good for right now. Guess i’ll give him some more time.
