Mouth Scales Lifted?

Postby LavenderFleur » Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:11 pm

Hello! Below is a picture of my Merauke BTS, Leeroy. I've noticed over the past couple of months that the scales on his "lips" are sticking out a little. This started around the time we moved into a new house that is much, much drier, and we've been working on keeping humidity up. Is this something low humidity would cause? I've looked at his mouth as much as he'll allow, but don't really see anything else out of the ordinary. He's also had good sheds. Any advice?

To me it looks like low humidity is the issue and perhaps he is about to shed. Work on keeping the humidity up and hopefully if he sheds it will correct the issue.

I just wanted to give an update in case anyone else came across the same issue. We've been able to consistently keep his humidity higher, and the issue has completely corrected itself. It was just too dry for him.
