My boy is acting strange

I found him making grunting noises and like moving his body around causing his hide to go up and down and he looks like he’s trying to spit out some substrate. The grunting sounded a bit like a cat trying to vomit.

I’m not sure if I can take him to the vet right now bc money is very tight as my parents are paying for 2 houses.
So all I can do right now is keep a close eye on him and if he does it again or becoming lethargic or anything I’ll try to beg my mum to take him.

Temps are 37°C basking, 34°C warm ambient, 27°C cool ambient.
Humidity is currently 53%.
Is substrate is 90% euci mulch, 10% sugar cane mulch and leaf litter.
He has UVB, a linear Exo terra tropical bulb. Placed 12” from the surface, no reflector and he has a lot of coverage so he’s not always in full exposure.

He is a 4 year old eastern, confirmed male.
He was last fed Saturday, had raw cat food, kale and carrots. He also had shed around the same time. He pooped earlier today in his water dish. Poop looks healthy and the urate is white and solid.
He was normally fed grain free dog food, does this sudden change from dog food to raw cat food make him act this way?
My other skink was also fed the same thing and so far hasn’t displayed the same behaviour.
Right now he seems ok and is asleep.

Not exactly sure what it was, but perhaps it ate something that it shouldn't and it was trying to bring it back up. Keep a close eye on your pet. Watch for the same thing to happen again, trouble breathing, funny noises, not eating. Basically if it isn't acting right, I would have it checked. Good luck and hopefully it was nothing.

Update: he is doing fine so far, he hasn’t done it again and he still has a good appetite.

Another update: he did it again. I’m actually convinced it was the raw cat food making him hack up.
He was last fed Sunday and on this exact same time of day he acted up.

He’s never done it after he was fed dog food and eggs.

Interesting. I would just stop feeding that food then.
