Euci mulch

Has anyone here used euci mulch, specifically pine gro euci mulch?
Sugar cane mulch is too dry for my second skink and I can’t change him back to coco fibre (bc it irritates his eyes and can’t burrow)
I heard a lot of mixed opinions one saying it’s harmful and others saying it’s perfect as long as it’s well ventilated.
He’s currently in a fish tank with a mesh lid but I will soon be upgrading him to a wood enclosure with 2 vents on the sides, is this ventilated enough to safely use the bedding or no?
Will it release toxins if spilled in the water dish or sprayed on?
If this is a no go any Aussies willing to recommend other substrate choices? Please state the brand as well if you can.
I need substrates that can handle moisture, natural, not too fine like coco fibre and it should be cheap, no overpriced pet shop bedding.
Please answer all these questions.
