Newbie question

Hi. I'm a new mom to a 6 year old male. I am making some food for him and my gliders. I have some rainbow carrots with the tops intact. I was wondering if it's safe to feed the leafy tops?

Personally I've never seen a skink go for leafy greens that are not mixed in with something they like. Oops I lied...was sent a picture of one of my babies I sold two years ago actively munching on collard greens. The one and only time I've seen this. If you do feed fresh vegetables go for organic, you don't want your pet subject to pesticides (or yourself for that matter). What type BTS is he? Can you post a picture?

He is Indonesian...so not sure what type that is. I have sugar gliders as well and I pureed some food for my bluey last night while making theirs. He devoured it. I just want to know if it's safe to feed him the green carrot leaves as well.
And I feed my animals 100% organic fruits and veggies. They eat better than I do.

Yes, mine do too. I don't see any reason why not if they are organic. Appears to be Merauke.

I have no idea the differences between them. I suppose you have a page with info?

There really isn't much difference. Classic Indonesian, Merauke, Irian Jaya and Halmahera are all Indonesian. Halmaheras are island locale and need much higher humidity. The other three are basically the same care. Humidity 60+ and basking temps 95-100. Cool side around 80 give or take. A humid hide will help also. A good protein source like a high quality dog food will help put some weight on him. Looks a bit light. I only keep Australian species currently but I have kept these in the past, all four types. I'm sure the current Merauke keepers will chime in with more info for you! Good luck, and welcome!

Thanks. I didn't know there were so many types. He looks pretty hearty to me, maybe just the angle? He has pretty much just eaten cat food at his previous home, so I'm trying to do better, although I hear he really likes it.
And I'm sure this is somewhere on here, but I'm at work right now. Do you guys recommend the Rapashy food? It looks better than cat food to me since it's made for Blueys.

Feeding Repashy as a constant is like eating Jell-o every day. It is a gel based processed food, of which I am not a fan. As a treat or occasional supplement ok. These guys pretty much eat anything so I'd switch to dog food. I use cat food for my newborns for the higher protein content.
