Exo Terra Large Wide front lock noise

I have the Large Wide for an enclosure and love except for the lock for the front panels making quite a bit of noise when opening and closing it. It makes a relatively noisey click when open or closed and is a bit of task to get open sometimes. Was just wondering if anyone else is using this or a similar exo terra and have the same issue. Not really an issue per say just don't like the amount of noise it can make and don't wanna be startling my skink(getting him this week).

i have this enclosure for my snake which is below my skink's set up, it also makes a click when you go to open the doors so i know what you're talkin about there. I don't think theres any way around that- it may lessen over time as it's used more but i think its there to stay. with time your skink will just get used to it, until then just try your best to open and close slowly and softly

It will more than likely bother you more than your skink. All my cages have sliding glass doors, and one of them has a metal track which is exceptionally noisy. My skinks do not bat an eye at the noise.

That's a load off my chest. Glad to hear I wasn't alone in this.

I have 3 Exo Terra enclosures and after 3 years of every day use quess what - it's still as loud
You definitely wake him up if you open door in night but he didnt even move if i open doors through day (or i just dont lock them if i am home because i hate that click sound )
