Temperature Guidelines/Lighting

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post to the forum so I apologize if it’s redundant. I’ve been trying to research more in depth the lighting and temperature requirements for my new northern and was hoping to get some input from an experienced keeper/s. Currently I have a 75 Gallon aquarium with a aluminum screen top for ventilation. It’s 24 inches tall, 18.5 wide, and 48.5” long. I am using a 150Watt basking spot bulb coupled with a 100Watt Mercury Vapor spot bulb on the same side of my guys enclosure. The basking temp gets to about 105degrees, the middle temp is about 80, and the cool side is as low as 76-78 depending on time of day. I know the MV bulb is a very high output UVB, but is definitely a hot one. My guy has about 2-3 inches of substrate, using 6”length of aspen on each side, and the entire center is reptibark. Is this a suitable setup/temperature gradient for my 3 month old northern? Any setup changes/recommendations?
