I need help identifying what kind of bts I have. I got it from a from reptile show and the lady gave me everything I need to take care of it. But if y’all could let me know what species this is and what humidity I need for it that would be great. Thanks![img][/[

Halmahera. Keep humidity over 80%

Disturbing that the seller didn't know it's species (origin location) or the correct microclimate for it. It's only a juvenile , probably a few months to 6 months old (depending on the quality of the care it's received prior to you buying it).

Can you give us details of how you've set up your BT's tank so we can check you've not been led astray and not been given poor advice by the seller.

Photos of the tank showing light positions and basking spot and substrate etc.
Details of the UV : brand + type (compact spiral type, T8 tube , T5 tube , MVB , other) , wattage , UVB rating, distance from the basking spot , ontop or under the mesh lid ?

Temperatures in warm zone, cool zone, at basking spot , and how you are measuring these ?

Diet and feeding schedule ?

Supplimentation schedule ?

Best to get these sorted properly now than later (when something goes wrong with the skink's health).

are you positive it is a Halmahera? And yes the sellers told me what kind it is i just forgot. Okay so i have a six by two enlosure for it. i have hides, uvb light and a heat basking light.i keep the basking spot between 85 and 100 and the cool side around 70. i keep it moist in the enclosure. i feed it dubia roaches, mustard greens, crickets, worms, collard greens and other varieties. but most of the time it will refuse to eat any vegetables that i try to feed it . idk how to make it eat the vegetables. it worries me because i know it is a very important part of a bts diet.

Yes, it is a Halmahera. Humidity 70+. Do not worry about vegetables for a juvenile. A good quality brand of cat food or dog food should be added to his diet. You can even mix vegetables into that if you desire. Most of the high end brands contain some vegetables. Good luck with the little one, and welcome!

Definitely a Halmahera. As for getting them to eat veggies, I take a protein source and then blend in my veggies and a little fruit for my skinks. I make batches with different protein sources and then freeze in ice cube trays. This way everything is blended together and they can't pick out what they want or don't want.
