How soon to place juvenile into adult enclosure?

Hey guys,

I got myself a new little Halmalhera skink which has now been named Mocha, I have her/him currently in quarantine just to make sure there is no nasties involved (was originally sold to me as CB but I later found out it is indeed farm bred), but given how tiny it is how soon is it acceptable after quarantine to go into the adult enclosure?

I'll include some pictures below of the little girl/boy (my girlfriend is convinced its female), and the adult enclosure if you are interested (I still want to add a couple more plants).

I've raised many baby skinks in adult enclosures. They simply grow into it. I find it less stressful for them than relocating. I would keep in quarantine for a while though, being an import.

Yeah I plan too, but okay good to know that once its ready and clear its safe to go in for the long hall

If you have the space , right from the getgo is fine provided you can get a good thermal and UV gradient and the skink can actually keep track of the live insects you will be including in it's diet , a very large tank can overwhelm a baby or smaller juvenile skink initially (coming from crowded display tubs / tanks to private penthouse the size of palace is a bit of shock , some people overcome this issue by partitioning off half the tank at the start .

I had my skink in a small baby setup for the first few months, while I was fixing up his adult home. It took a long while for him to fully adjust to the new home, he stayed in one area for about a week, but got over it eventually and then there was no going back to a small home, not at all. He uses every inch of the space

I guess after a couple months in smaller/quarantine it should be good to go in then gives the vivarium time to establish and roots to form I suppose too!
