I have my cage for indonesian BTS up and running only about 3 weeks and i already had to rearrange some furniture, mostly because of basking temps/humidity problems (wether here went crazy 1week ago).
Plants that i use :
Zamioculcas
Pothos
Kitty grass
Festuca (fescue) and two other plant that i need to find out names, but they are used in crested gecko/dart frog vivs
As everyone know, and as everybody here will tell you, BTS love to dig, so be ready to replace small plants. Or you can use heavy pots for plants, or garnish them with big rocks.
My first mistake was with tall plants near basking spot - he trampled them a little so they was very close to basking bulb and cast shadow on basking spot.
Second mistake was adding superworms as cleaning crew with exiterra styrofoam background - i didnt saw them but first 2 nights i hear them eating background, i hope they are already dead (there was only 2 for start) or are bugs now
I add some earthworms, springtails and i saw some beneficial mites too. I spot clean if there is big poop, but yesterday i saw poop only about 2cm big so i leave it there and today is already half decomposed.
So far i can tell, pothos and zamioculcas can withstand burrowing and trampling. Kitty grass looks ok for now, but festuca started to turn yellow.
Have anybody experience with mint, basil, sage and similar plants in BTS viv? Isn't odour from mint for example disturbing for skink?
