My Blue Tongue Skinks Eyes Have Changed Colour

Hey,

So just a general query here but my blue tongue skinks eyes have slowly lost colour as he has aged, originally his eyes had a very orange colour with the pupil easily distinguished, now his eyes are almost entirely black to the point that the pupils are almost unrecognisable unless really close, this is constant and it has been ongoing for the last year. He is 11 years old and i have had him since he was but a baby.

I am unsure if this is normal or something to worry about is all.

I personally have not seen this, my oldest (Northern) is 8. What type of BT do you have? Can you post a picture? Is he or she behaving normally otherwise?

I have never seen or heard of this happening. Would you post a picture or two of your skink's eyes? Close-ups would be excellent.

That is a decent picture, the only other things I have noticed are that it looks like he has dropped weight slightly but besides that he has been super active and colourful.

Reptiles can and do suffer from cataracts as they age. It's possible this is the case.

How is his eye sight when he's out of his tank and cruising about on the floor in a room , could test this by placing some obstacles and seeing if he avoids them for runs into then , then tries to go around , under or over them.
