Sperm plugs

Hello I was wondering how to tell the difference between sperm plugs and irate. Also at what age do skinks start having sperm plugs? Thank you

Rather than trying to describe it just Google image both. Sperm plugs will be thin and stringy with two blobs attached. They will usually dry up quickly and you won't notice them after. Urates will basically look like white feces, and when dried, they become chalky and remain in the enclosure. Male skinks may begin dropping sperm plugs at around a year old.

I've had males drop them at the ripe old age of six months. When in season can be quite frequent.

Yeh I’ve had this happen, ventress was dropping them long before I expected at around 5 or 6 months and became like a man possessed trying to get out to find some lizard lovin’. He’s calmed down now it’s winter thank god, back to eating more and being a lazy sod. Also noticed less sperm plugs now aswell.

Thank you my skink is only 4 months old so I was wondering I really want to know if he really is a he.

At four months the jury's still out. Of course the presence of sperm plugs down the road a bit will be a definite, but the lack thereof doesn't mean anything.
