BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I was thinking about growing plants in a vivarium (when I get one... in a few years...), so I need your help!

I was thinking of using some leftover Rye Grass seeds I got - basically any low-growing plants that a BTS can feel more comfortable walking in. I think it'll look nicer than the average vivarium if I grew plants, kinda like an aquascape of an aquarium
I am concerned about mould, so drought-resistent plants would be good.
Australian flora will be a bonus (many foreign species are deemed pests, and I'm planning on getting an Eastern whose natural environment will be an Australian one)
Edible plants will be an extra bonus, just in case the BTS accidently ingests some leaves

I was also about to buy a cheap vivarium but its price shot up to the thousands without my knowledge (from about 200 to 40,000...),
so if anyone knows any good people to buy vivariums from, please tell me! (buying is too costly and overpriced, if I DIY I feel like it won't be good)

Basically, is Rye Grass okay? Are there plants with one or more of the following characteristics: low-growing, drought-resistant, Australian and edible?

Forget plants. They just dig them up and make a mess of it. The simpler the better. Plants are for geckos, anoles and others that do not dig.

I was wondering since all the bluies I see like to stay near grassy areas like soccer fields and such.

I'm sure they do, but out there they can't make a mess of your cage! It's amazing the heavy objects they are able to move around, too! No matter how large their enclosure is, they will dig somewhere. Just what they do.
