My skink has a eye problem.

My skink is in a metal mesh enclosure, like a week ago I came home and she was bleeding from a cut just under her eye. My little cousin stabbed a hole into her cage. I wiped the blood from her eye and face and it made a scab, which I thought was normal. I came in and cleaned it every other day. She stayed burried under her bedding so I didn't bother her it seemed like she was ok. But when I put her food out she didn't mover or try to do anything. I pulled her out and her eyes were crusted shut and she couldn't see. I'm really freaking out because the only place that has lizard care is costing about 200$ to see and help her. If y'all have any way I can help her get better comment.

I am sorry to hear about your Skink. Where are you located? I would really recommend a vet visit.

Yes, to avoid any infection I totally agree wit Janella. I am also going to suggest a different type of enclosure, metal mesh is not a recommended caging type for much other than mammals. Lizards tend to rub their noses against walls of their cages at times, and this will be an ongoing issue.

If it's unlikely you'll be able to get to a vet, I might suggest using watered down manuka honey to treat the area. I've used it to treat sores on guineas before, and I'd imagine it'd help out against preventing infection on a reptile too.

Had a very good result using 1/4 and 1/2 strength manuka honey in water.

I found 1/4 strength manuka honey very watery and runny was good for extended wounds.
On Fluffy's infected eyes I used 1/2 strength manuka honey, still runny by had a bit of stickiness.

Gear I used was a few 1ml syringes , a 14Gauge drawing up needle ( blunt metal needle to draw manuka honey from the Activon tube into the syringe (I was drawing 0.3ml of honey in) and then adding the same volume of boiled water using the same drawing up needle, to make 1:1 mix of honey in water.
