BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hey All,
Just wondering at around what length do you need to trim your skinks nails? Ventress's are looking a little long but I can't decide if that's just me or if they have magically grown rather quickly.
Do any of you have pictures of the ideal length to trim them?
I have ordered more slate to put in his viv in the hopes that if they do need trimming this time, they will look after themselves in future.
I will attempt to get a picture of his nails later on today if that's needed?

I generally trim them when they start making little holes in my skin! Not an easy task with those tiny little toes, but unfortunately necessary.

I'd only trim them if they're curling round quite a bit. IMO slate is good but there are courser rocks to use for nail filing. I just went out and found the roughest rocks I could, cleaned them off, and place a couple in front of the hides so they have to climb over them when going in and out. Adds to their feeling of security once they're in, keeps them fit, and I never have to trim their nails

Thanks for that, yes you’re totally right, it’s the tinyness that scares me about doing it haha.

That sounds like an ace idea, i’ll Go on a rock hunt sometime soon and then get scrubbing them. Sounds like Ventress will like it to, more adventuring for him.
