BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hello, it's me again!

Seikatsu has been well-- eats regularly, plays, all that good stuff. But I've noticed recently his neck is a little red?

What I mean by this is that the scales overall have a light pinkish color. It's just on his neck and under his chin. I also noticed that his tail shed from the previous cycle looks to be stuck. I'm not sure if this is true or has anything to do with it, but I figured I'd throw it in.

I just want to make sure he's alright, and if there are any quick fixes anyone can think of to ease my mind, that'd be great.

Do you happen to have any images? It could just be from scale patterns (ours has pink colours on her chin/neck too, and most Merauke's have pink undertones).

What is your subspecies? You may need to double check your humidity for the next shed cycles, in the meantime you could see if you're able to soak the tail in luke warm water for a few minutes. If it's difficult to do, maybe soak something like paper kitchen towel or cotton wool pad to gently hold on the tail (don't want to force or rub the shed off though - just be gentle).

Hey I’m new here so I can’t make my own post but I have a meruke blue tongue that is fairly young less than a year old and suddenly it’s neck has became super red! It makes me a little nervous because it hasn’t been coming out of hiding as much recently. It has just got done with it’s shed (for the second time this month) my humidity is 60-70 during the day and 90% at night. Please help

That is completely normal coloring on the throat for a Merauke. Nothing to be concerned about.
